Technology partnership with Farsoon: M&H invests millions once again in new 3D printers

M&H CNC Technik is further strengthening its position as one of Europe’s leading providers of industrial metal 3D printing. With a new investment of several million in state-of-the-art plant technology and infrastructure, the company is expanding its production capacity whilst at the same time strengthening its partnership with the international plant manufacturer Farsoon Technologies.

Expansion of capacity

Two new Farsoon metal 3D printing systems are currently being commissioned at the Ilz site. With this investment, M&H is creating additional capacity for highly complex components whilst also opening up new areas of application.

The new FS721M large-scale system, featuring eight lasers and a height of 650 millimetres, enables the cost-effective production of larger components as well as sophisticated high-temperature components made from materials such as Inconel. Applications range from aerospace and energy applications to high-performance industrial components and small-batch production.

In addition, the compact FS191 development platform expands the possibilities in the field of research and development.

Farsoon’s European technology partner

With the commissioning of the new facilities, M&H will become Farsoon Technologies’ official European technology partner. As part of this strategic partnership, the two companies will work together in future to develop new materials, manufacturing parameters and applications for industrial additive manufacturing.

“In future, new materials, parameters or component geometries can be tested under real-world conditions before being scaled up for production. This significantly reduces development times and enables us to support our customers even earlier in the product development process,” explains Managing Director Patrick Herzig.

As a result of this partnership, the Ilz site will also become a key development centre within Farsoon’s international network.

Farsoon, too, sees clear benefits in this deeper collaboration: “Our customers’ requirements are constantly increasing – larger components, shorter development cycles and more demanding materials. Strong, globally recognised partners such as M&H help us bring innovations to industrial applications more quickly. That is why we are deepening our collaboration and expanding our joint development work,” emphasises Oliver Huizhi, Managing Director of Farsoon Europe.

More than ten million euros for growth and innovation

This latest investment continues M&H’s steady growth trajectory. In recent years, the company has already invested more than ten million euros in factory extensions, infrastructure and new manufacturing technologies. Since 2020 alone, a total of eight additional metal 3D printing systems have been installed at the site.

“Anyone who wants to remain at the forefront of technology must invest continuously. Our aim is to offer customers access to the very latest manufacturing technologies whilst actively helping to shape new applications,” said Herzig.

High demand from future-oriented sectors

These investments are being made against a backdrop of sustained high demand for additively manufactured metal components. M&H is currently experiencing strong growth in sectors such as aerospace, energy, medical technology, motorsport and high-performance industrial applications.

“Industrial metal 3D printing is advancing at a rapid pace. More and more companies are reaching technical or economic limits with conventional manufacturing methods. This is precisely where additive technologies open up entirely new possibilities,” says Herzig.

By expanding its capacity and deepening its technological partnership, M&H is laying the foundations for further growth and strengthening its role as an innovation partner for demanding industrial applications.
